PictureJohn Henderson - Reference Group Chair
The Canterbury Family Violence Reference Group is everyone connected with the Canterbury Family Violence Collaboration, with representation from nearly 50 NGO or government organisations.
Our Chair to date has been John Henderson from Ministry of Social Development. John has been a tremendous asset to the Collaboration. Not only has he provided sound leadership from within the Reference Group and also as one of the government agency representatives on the Steering Group, he has always been willing to get his hands dirty, rolling up his sleeves to help with community events such as White Ribbon Day, and handing out White Ribbons at Riccarton Market. His quality of leadership has been reflected through the strong support and willingness to be active shown by his team members. A huge thanks to you John and your team!
Sadly, John's role as Reference Group Chair has reached full term and as such we will be looking for a new person to step up to the plate. We are inviting nominations and expressions of interest for this role. We are grateful that John will continue his support to the work of the Collaboration through continued involvement in the Reference Group and Steering Group.
If you would like to know more, please contact us today.

Elected by the Reference Group, the Steering Group oversees the operation of the Canterbury Family Violence Collaboration.
We would like to express our sincere thanks to Jackie Moore from Pathways Trust for her commitment as Steering Group Chair throughout a dynamic 2016.
As the one-year term came to a close, the Steering Group elected a new Chair for 2017, and we would like to welcome on board, and introduce to you, Shelley Barwick from Ministry of Justice.
Shelley currently holds the role of Domestic Violence Advisor for MOJ, and she has also been an active member of the Collaboration and Steering Group for some time.
Feel free to introduce yourself to Shelley at our next Reference Group meeting.
