There are many ways you can get involved...
.As seen in the diagram below the Collaboration has a Reference Group, Steering Group, and four Work Streams. If you are interested in becoming a part of the Collaboration we recommend attending one of our Reference Group meetings to find out what we are all about and to see where you fit.
The Reference Group is a forum to raise current issues in the family violence sector and also helps to guide the direction of the Collaboration. During Reference Group meetings members have the chance to provide input into key decisions and Work Stream projects. Wide membership of the Reference Group is important to the Collaboration to ensure that all areas of the sector have the ability to inform the work that goes on.

The Reference Group is everyone connected with the Canterbury Family Violence Collaboration, with representation from nearly 50 NGO or government organisations. We have approximately 6 meetings per year.
The Steering Group is elected by the Reference Group. They provide governance and oversee the operation of the collaboration.
Work streams are action orientated and advance specific projects identified through our Strategic Plan as fitting within Priority Focus Areas. Within each work stream are Project Groups that focus on a specified project plan for a period of time. Work streams meet every 4-6 weeks.

The Collaboration has four Work Streams: Training and Development, Prevention, Crisis Response and Intervention, and Voice and Connection. These Work Streams focus on projects that benefit the whole family violence sector within their strategic areas of focus.
